How a mile is scored
A crash counts only if it is within 100 meters of the route centerline and the reported road is US-287, US-380, or US-75 (including Central Expressway and the shared US-377 pavement in Denton). A crash filed to the cross street counts only at an intersection, and only when one of those highways is the cross road.
Weights: fatal 20, serious injury 8, minor injury 3, possible injury 1, no injury 0.3. The mile’s score is the total weight divided by its length and by six years.
There are no traffic counts, so a busy mile scores higher. Recent weeks are usually incomplete.
